One of the aspects we love most about working in the interior design industry is its sense of community. We do not compete with our peers, instead we prioritize sharing, supporting, and encouraging each other to improve our practices and push ourselves creatively. While every firm has its own techniques and methodology–there is no one-size-fits-all rule book in residential interior design–each has learned valuable lessons along the way. Like so many of you, we didn’t learn our “trade secrets” in a classroom. We’ve accumulated them along the way from attending conferences, swapping stories at Market, and keeping our fingers on the pulse of the industry.
Sharing the insights we’ve picked up along the way is exactly what we plan to do here, in a segment we’re calling Community & Conversation. We invite you to submit your burning questions, offer your own practical advice, and pick up some actionable tips for greater design success. Our intention for this series is to open a two-way conversation with honest dialogue about what works, what doesn’t, favorite resources, horror stories, and everything in between.
